BAT accelerates technology transformation with new Bengaluru Hub

  • BAT to open a new Information, Digital and Technology (IDT) hub in Bengaluru
  • The newly incorporated Future Capabilities Centre will act as a global hub for IDT capabilities and innovation
  • Recruitment for new highly skilled roles for the hub is underway

BENGALURU, India – BAT today announced plans to open a new Information, Digital and Technology (IDT) hub in the heart of Fraser Town, Bengaluru, further strengthening the company’s global technology footprint, and supporting its transformation into a more agile, data-driven business.

The new hub will host BAT’s newly established Future Capabilities Centre (FCC), bringing together key technology capabilities in one location to accelerate delivery and innovation across BAT.

Javed Iqbal, Interim Chief Financial Officer and Director, Digital and Information at BAT said:
“We are building BAT to be more agile, data-driven and fit for the future, with technology playing an integral role in our transformation journey.

“Our new Future Capabilities Centre in Bengaluru – India’s premier technology hub – taps into one of the world’s leading technology ecosystems, giving us access to outstanding talent and strengthening our ability to scale innovation.”

The FCC will also create new highly skilled roles across an array of disciplines including Cyber Security, Data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Platforms in the region. These teams will work alongside strategic partners, to drive continuous improvement across the Group.

The expansion reflects BAT’s focus on embedding technology at the core of how the company operates, ensuring it is well positioned to adapt and grow in a rapidly evolving environment.
