Showing our solidarity with Pride

As we continue to transform our business to develop new technologies and product categories, we need the best talent.

This includes bringing different perspectives to innovation and problem-solving. Our diversity and inclusion strategy focuses on ensuring our people can flourish regardless of gender, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity or other differences.

B United, the global BAT LGBT+ network, plays a key role in helping to create A Better Tomorrow™ for all of our employees. It provides an informal forum for our LGBT+ employees to share experiences and exemplifies BAT’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

To celebrate B United and demonstrate BAT’s commitment to fostering an environment where all employees can thrive, each June we nightly light up our London HQ in rainbow colours to celebrate Pride month.

Reynolds American lit up for PrideAnd this year, for the first time ever, our colleagues at Reynolds American Inc have lit up their HQ too – to coincide with the Pride parade in Winston-Salem, where they are based. 2022 marked the third consecutive year Reynolds scored 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, designating our U.S. subsidiary as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.

Damian De Conno, B United President, said: “It’s always a great feeling to see our building lit up and we hope it makes everyone feel like BAT is a place where everyone can openly and honestly be themselves. Seeing the Reynolds HQ adorned in the rainbow colours too was fantastic and testament to all the good work that the team does there.”
