Vuse strikes gold with another prestigious sustainability award

More recognition for our world number one 1 global vapour brand

Our world number one 1 global vapour brand Vuse has struck gold again with another award acknowledging its sustainability leadership credentials.

A winning formula

With the goal of becoming the world’s first carbon neutral vapour brand, Vuse worked in partnership with Landor & Fitch to create a pack design made from recyclable materials and device packaging free from unnecessary single-use plastics. “Great results!” said one judge. Another added: “The packaging will appeal to its target audience and is a genuine innovation with sustainability as the driver.” The awards, hosted by Transform Magazine, celebrate excellence in brand development, rebranding, and repositioning.

Vuse won the gold award at the prestigious Transform Awards Europe 2022 for ‘Best Use of Sustainable Packaging’ in recognition of the work done with our WPP agency Landor & Fitch (see box, right).

This is Vuse’s second successive win at the Transform Awards Europe, having picked up gold last year for ‘Best Brand Experience’, delivered through the Vuse Inspiration Store .

Speaking after last night’s awards ceremony in London, Elly Criticou, BAT’s Global Vapour Category Director, said: “This award further demonstrates how we are setting the ESG standard within the vaping category. Last year we pledged to become the world’s first global carbon neutral vape brand and we did it.

“We are on a continuous journey to meet our ambition to be the most sustainable vape brand and this is great testament to our commitment and hard work. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

Transform award ceremony Success at the Transform Awards marks the latest in a long line of sustainability recognition for Vuse, which became the world’s number one global vaping brand in 2021 1 by value share . In 2021, Vuse was recognised as the first global carbon neutral vape brand in the world 2 and also won the Sustainable Product Award at the prestigious 2021 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards.

The Transform gold is Vuse’s 19th prestigious award to-date, following the Vuse ePod2 being named as UK Product of the Year in the ‘Vape & Heated Tobacco Products’ category.

Based on Vype/Vuse estimated value share from Recommended Retail Price (RRP) in measured retail for vapour (i.e. total vapour category value in retail sales) in the USA, Canada, France, UK, Germany. These five markets cover an estimated 77% of global vapour closed system net turnover (NTO), calculated in June - July 2021.
  2. Based on ePod, ePen, eTank mini, Alto devices and consumables internal sales forecast (calculated March 2021) for 12 months starting from April 2021. Vuse’s carbon neutrality has been independently validated by Vertis based on product Life Cycle Assessment data provided by an independent third party.
