The principle of Mutual Benefit is the basis on which we build our relationships with our stakeholders. We are primarily in business to build long term shareholder value and we believe the best way to do this is to seek to understand and take account of the needs of all our stakeholders.

Core Beliefs
MB1 We believe in creating long term shareholder value
MB2 We believe in engaging constructively with our stakeholders
MB3 We believe in creating inspiring working environments for our people
MB4 We believe in adding value to the communities in which we operate
MB5 We believe that suppliers and other business partners should have the opportunity to benefit from their relationship with us

We encourage commercial enterprise and want our suppliers and other business partners to share in our success. We also recognise that a commercial organisation in competitive markets cannot prop up uncompetitive or inefficient businesses.
It is increasingly expected that companies should understand their impacts on suppliers. We aspire to be a first class business partner. We also recognise that the long term viability of any business relationship depends on all parties working to develop and maintain commercial success.

Our responsibility is to maintain our competitiveness whilst striving to be fair in our dealings with our suppliers and other business partners.

We will:

  • Take into account the particular needs of small suppliers and business partners in doing this.

We can work together with our suppliers and other business partners to achieve mutual understanding of all parties’ priorities and expectations.

For our part, we will:

  • Communicate regularly and openly to business partners about our business and our requirements;
  • Work with them, where appropriate, to add value to their businesses.

We see it as the responsibility of our suppliers and other business partners to be successful commercial enterprises, to strive to treat us fairly, to seek to understand any changes in our business and to understand that we are in business to make profit.

We will contribute by:

  • Helping them to develop a good understanding of our business and our requirements.
