The Group initiated an on-market share buy-back programme at the end of February 2003. By the close of business on 1 March 2007, we expect that some 35 million shares will have been bought back since 1 January 2006 at a cost of £500 million (see Summary financial statement). During 2005, 45 million shares were bought at a cost of £501 million.
