Sustainability Report 2010
Canada

Each day, Imperial Tobacco Canada’s account representatives visit the company’s retail customers in a fleet of 380 cars. In 2010, the company saw an opportunity to improve this fleet both economically and environmentally.

By replacing the cars with hybrid vehicles the company aimed to reduce its CO2e footprint and lower its total fleet costs including acquisition, fuel and maintenance.

The results to date have been impressive: an estimated 43 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2e emissions per month, and considerable cost savings, compared to the old car fleet.

We believe Imperial Tobacco Canada to be the only company in Canada with a 100 per cent hybrid fleet.
