Engage with governments to put forward our views for effective, evidence-based regulation, including matters arising from their translation of the World Health Organisation’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) guidelines into local laws;
Ensure our global regulatory positions are published on www.bat.com ; and
Engage with the International Labour Organisation and other relevant international organisations to aim to ensure that the impact of regulation on issues such as employment and free trade are properly assessed by end 2011.
For our marketing practices

100 per cent adherence to our International Marketing Standards;
Review youth smoking prevention in those markets who have yet to implement our global approach by end 2011; and
Support the introduction of minimum age laws of 18 for the sale of tobacco products where no such laws currently exist.
For tackling illicit trade

Support governments in implementing our track and trace system to help them meet the obligations of the FCTC draft Protocol on Illicit Trade; and
Complete a pilot at our factory in Mexico of the industry-agreed system for digital tax verification by end 2011.
