SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2009

British American Tobacco Nigeria has two manufacturing sites, in Zaria and Ibadan, and its distribution network covers all parts of the country.

The company has a strong reputation for sustainability in Nigeria and has produced local Social Reports in the past. In 2009, as part of its stakeholder dialogue programme, it engaged with stakeholders around how it can further improve its approach to sustainability. It also held a dialogue session on the issue of illicit tobacco products in the country.

Operating in a developing market, British American Tobacco Nigeria has adopted our Standards of Business Conduct and International Marketing Standards as has every other company in the Group. You can read about its approach to these in the following pages.

You can also view the performance of the local business against some of our key sustainability measures in its balanced scorecard and can compare data for these measures against other countries in the Data comparator.
