Environment, health and safety management are high priorities for responsible companies and British American Tobacco is no exception.

We accept that our companies’ operations affect the environment and we are committed to following high standards of environmental protection, adhering to the principles of sustainable development and protecting biodiversity.

Our environmental management systems conform to best international practices.  In safety management, we set zero accidents as a local objective for our companies and, by taking a proactive stance, we aim to be among the leaders in the field of occupational health improvement.

Each year we aim to improve our EHS performance, systems, programmes, data-gathering and target-setting and to develop our reporting on progress.

Responsibility for our EHS Policy lies with the Board.  It applies across all our activities including our supply chains and requires our companies, as well as complying with all applicable laws and regulations, to regularly assess and review the EHS impacts of their present and future activities and to pursue continual improvement in seeking to safeguard the physical environment and the health and safety of employees and non company personnel on company premises.
