No. We have been in what’s called ‘the developing world’ since our business was formed more than 100 years ago. For example, we have had a presence in India since 1902, Zimbabwe since 1905, Kenya since 1907 and Malaysia since 1911. And people around the world have consumed tobacco for far longer than that. As disposable income grows in many of these countries, we find that more smokers are choosing high-quality premium international brands rather than local alternatives.
